Kent graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in Business Finance and an MBA in Strategic Planning. He has worked at a number of Fortune 500 companies in marketing and marketing research, including Procter & Gamble, Ralston Purina, Mars, Inc. and Johnson and Johnson. He has also spent 4 years living in Mexico and another year and a half traveling back and forth, which has allowed him to become fluent in the Spanish language.
Kent has been a teacher, both as a volunteer in church settings and at the university undergraduate level. He loves to find innovative ways to inspire his students to progress in their studies, as well as to keep their interest honed in on the subject at hand. One way he has done this is by drawing on his own past experiences to bring a subject to life, creating an interesting and real-life adjunct to normal textbook readings, etc.
Kent has been teaching English as a 2nd language over the past year, and has an extra level of understanding for those who are learning a new language, since he has been able to accomplish this himself. He knows how to meet his students' needs and motivate them to learn through both class experiences and on their own time.
In his spare time, Kent loves to ride his bike, go hiking and to travel, especially to experience other countries and cultures, and to spend time with his family.
